Our aim is to enable staff to deliver high-quality services, by providing them with innovative and proactive solutions that drive our business transformation, strengthen a shared culture and build our ability to grow together.
We know that attracting and retaining excellent employees is key to this success. Our team is committed and enthusiastic about our work and we are always looking for the right people to join us and really help us make a difference.
This also means we will invest in you through great training and management, so you will have the knowledge, skills and behaviours to provide that service.
In our 2024 staff survey, 99% of our employees said they are proud to work at Soha.
How do we keep this high level of passion and engagement from our staff?
- We promote a culture where staff feel safe, and can thrive and flourish.
- We actively support learning and development to enable you to realise your full potential.
- We offer a wide range of excellent benefits tailored to suit you.
- We are committed to valuing diversity and promoting equal opportunities for all.
In 2018 we became Living Wage Accredited. “Maintaining our Living Wage accreditation demonstrates a public commitment to fair pay”, says Katie Legg, Head of HR.
Armed Forces Covenant
Soha made a public commitment to ensure that current and veteran members of our armed forces and their families are treated fairly by signing the Armed Forces Covenant in 2020. The Covenant brings together the government, businesses, local authorities, charities and the public to support the forces.
Of over 5530 organisations nationally which had signed the Armed Forces Covenant in 2020, Soha was one of only 27 social landlords to have made the pledge. It was one of only three in the South-East and the only one of those in the region without existing military connections. There are now over 13,000 organisations in the Armed Forces Covenant community.
Head of HR at Soha, Katie Legg, said “Soha recognises how much serving personnel, veterans and military families contribute to our communities and the local economy, as well as to our nation’s security, which is why we’ve signed the Armed Forces Covenant. Among other things, we’re pledging to support the employment of veterans, service spouses and partners by promoting career opportunities and flexible working. We are also geared up to accommodate the special requirements of staff who choose to be Reservists. This is not just about our saying ‘thank you’ but acknowledging that there are valuable skills and unique experience which members of the military family can bring to a business.”
Harry’s Pledge – as employers
We will be a carer-friendly employer, doing all we can to support people with caring responsibilities to work for us by making our policies carer-friendly, ensuring they can work flexibly and fit paid work around unpaid caring work. We will provide platforms and support for carers to tell their stories, and to tell us what they need from us as employers and housing providers.
